Hitchhyke fares consist of the Trip Fare, Platform Fee, and any applicable Third-Party Fees.
Types of Fees
Trip Fare
- The total ride cost, which includes:
- The Base Fare, a starting amount added to every trip.
- The per-kilometer rate, which is set by the driver.
- Additional variables such as the Minimum Trip Fare, service charges for cancellations, wait time fees, and toll fees added by the driver may apply in specific cases.
- This amount is fully paid to the driver, minus the Platform Fee and some third-party transfer fees.
Platform Fee
- A variable percentage-based fee deducted from the driver’s earnings per trip.
- Supports platform development, marketing, customer support, and operational costs.
- For example, if a trip costs $1000, the passenger pays $1000 + any third-party fees, and the driver receives $1000 minus the Platform Fee and some third-party transfer fees.
Third-Party Fees
- Fees passed on to the passenger, such as:
- Payment processing fees (charged by card processors).
- Currency conversion fees (if applicable).
- Fees deducted from the driver, such as
- Bank Transfer fees (charged by payment processors)
- These fees minimally affect the driver’s earnings.
