I Was Charged a Damage Fee

If you or a member of your group causes physical or cosmetic damage to your driver's vehicle, a damage fee may be assessed and charged to your default payment method. For more details, refer to the Hitchhyke Terms of Service.

Drivers use their personal vehicles to transport passengers and their own families and friends. Keeping these vehicles in good condition is essential.

How Will I Be Notified About Damage Fees?

If you are charged a damage fee, you will receive a detailed email outlining the details of the charge.
The email will include:
- Details of the ride where the damage occurred.
- Evidence of the damage submitted by the driver.
You will also receive an in-app notification confirming the charge.
A 'Trip Charge' will appear in the app, and the charge will be visible directly on the home screen.
Until the fee is paid, you will not be able to book new trips.

Clear past charges before continuing to book a ride.

Types of Damage Charges

Damage fees vary based on severity and are intended to cover the cost of cleaning or repairs. All values listed are strictly for illustrative purposes. Actual fees are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
