Use these tips to help keep your Hitchhyke account secure.

What Not to Give Out

No Hitchhyke employee will contact you via phone, text, or email asking for personal information unless you reach out to us first. If you did not initiate contact, do not share:

• Phone number
• Phone number verification code
• Driver’s license
• Credit card number
• Bank account details

If someone asks for this information and you did not contact us first, it may be a scam. The best action is to hang up or ignore the message.

Phone Safety

• If you get a new phone number, account phone numbers cannot be changed at this time.
• If you sell or give away your phone, log out of the app first to prevent unauthorized access.
• If you lose your device during a Hitchhyke ride, contact Hitchhyke support for assistance. We'll attempt to reach out to the driver on your behalf.
